Documentation for C-Werk 2.0.

Previous page C-Werk license types  Product activation utility Next page

There are two licensing methods for C-Werk:

  1. License file only.

The license file contains the data on basic hardware configuration (motherboard, CPU, hard disk, video adapter, RAM, and network card) of all Servers. If you change any two basic hardware components, your license will be invalid. For example, this is the case when you change both CPU and motherboard. However, changing a graphics card or upgrading RAM will not affect the license.

This is why, when working with C-Werk, consider the following:

    1. The activation request should be sent from the computer that will host the C-Werk Server.
    2. You can upgrade your license only if you saved the initial basic hardware configuration of all Servers.
    3. It is not possible to transfer a license from one computer to another.

  2. License file and Guardant dongle.

This method allows replacing the Server hardware and transferring the license to another computer. To activate C-Werk via this method, contact Grundig to receive a license file and Guardant dongle.
If you already have a Guardant dongle, you can perform activation yourself. To do this, connect the Guardant dongle to the computer that you wish to activate and perform the standard activation steps.

Note

If you install virtualization products such as VirtualBox, VmWare etc., you may lose the license. If you encounter this problem, it is recommended to remove all virtualization products from the computer hardware tree or get a new license file.
