You can configure archives using the interface of the Archive tab. To create archives, you must have the appropriate permissions. You can create an unlimited number of archives on the basis of one Server.

The archive can be stored:

Attention!

For local or remote archives, it is not recommended to use the archive as a single large volume.
It is more practical to split the archive into several volumes and locate them on different hardware devices. We recommend you to create an archive with volumes no larger than 30 TB each.

Features of archives:

Local archive

Remote archive

Cloud archive
The archive can be located on several logical disks of the Server

The archive can be stored in multiple remote storages

The archive can be stored in one cloud storage
On one logical disk for one archive, you can create only one volume, which occupies either a file of a set size or the entire partition (logical disk)

The archive can be stored only as a file of a specified size

The archive can contain several volumes of unlimited size. You can change the size of the archive without restarting ngp
The archive can contain multiple volumes, which may be in the form of a file or a partition

Data from a local, remote, or cloud archive can be copied to other local, remote, or cloud archives.
You can configure archives as follows:

  1. Create archives (see Creating archives).
  2. Configure recording of the video stream from video cameras to the archives (see Configuring recording to an archive).
  3. Configure data replication, if necessary (see Configuring data replication).

You can also connect external archives—a set of video recordings with time links.
